GPS Waypoints to Krabi & Phuket

Salam semua. Ini nak bagi Tips memandu ke Krabi dan Phuket skit

Setiap hari ada aja orang tanya saya “kalau nak travel ke Siam by car camne? “ or “Weh! hari ko pi Siam ko ikut jalan mana?” or “Bro! ko boleh forwardkan aku GPS koordinat pitstop masa ko pi Siam hari tu boleh tak” or seangkatan dengannya.. so untuk mempermudahkan lagi saya sertakan Waypoint Route dari Bukit Kayu Hitam ke Krabi & Phuket. Korang yang dah season driving kat Siam tu mungkin dah familiar dah so takde la hairan sangat cuma kepada yang first timer yang nak driving kat Siam tu boleh guna GPS Waypoints ni sebegai rujukan untuk pitstop, makan dan sambung perjalanan ke destinasi yang dituju.

Ok.. Skit penerangan… Jumlah Jarak dikira dari border Bukit Kayu Hitam dan Beza Jarak dikira beza antara Lokasi ke Lokasi selepasnya. Jalan yang korang kena ambil adalah Thenom Phet Kasem (4). Ingat tu Thenom Phet Kasem dan kod highway tu adalah (4)…. Dari Hatyai ke Phuket korang perlu belasah Highway nih aja….

Nota:

– Untuk ke Krabi.. syor sangat-sangat untuk berhenti di semua lokasi diatas dan perhentian WAJIB adalah pada No.3 (Rest Area Trang)

– Jangkamasa perjalanan dari BKT ke Ao Nang (Krabi) dalam 3 jam setengah hingga 5 jam… bergantung kepada cara korang drive.

– Jangkamasa perjalanan dari BKT/Danok/Hatyai ke Phuket (Patong) dalam 5 jam hingga ke 7 jam.. so rancanglah perjalanan korang semua…

Jangan tertipu… bila suh update Garmin GPS map….

Saya pakai Garmin GPS pada kereta dan juga handphone saya. Saya perangai saya, saya suka sesuatu yang up to date termasuklah GPS map file. So, setiap bulan saya suka update map GPS tu tapi yang jadi masalahnye, bila tanya kat kedai, rata-rata tokey kedai tu cakap “Lu mau update itu GPS map itu boleh.. tapi RM tiga puluh linggit lor…..”

Saya pelik bende yang simple giler tuh pon diorang boleh charge sampai RM30…. tu belom suh install Garmin lagi kat dalam tepon. Kalu nak install garmin dalam tepon nokia berapa pulak??  Tokey kedai jawab balik…”Lu kalu mau install oliginal punya.. ampat latus wooo… tapi kalu lu mau local punya lapan puloh linggit wooo”

Double hampeh kalu nak install diorang charge RM80…. ish ish ish… 15 minit keje RM80 untuk install dan 5 minit keje untuk update RM30….

Ni saya nak kongsi skit… mungkin ramai yang dah tahu nak update GPS map dan untuk Malaysia, Singapore dan Brunei… korang boleh download sendiri map source tu dari website nih..http://www.malfreemaps.com atau http://www.malsingmaps.com. Apa yang korang perlu buat adalah register as member.. free aja then download ler GPS map source tu for free… site tu bagus sebab map dia update every 2 weeks.  Download aja dan copy file gmapsupp.img dan masuk dalam memori card dalam folder /Garmin. itu aja… dan korang dah save RM30.

Secondly, sapa yang pakai tepon Nokia dengan OS Symbian S60 3rd Edition, boleh CUCUK SINI untuk tahu macamana nak install GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition dan korang boleh save RM80….

How to Install Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 3rd & 5th Edition

For those who used Nokia phones with Symbian S60 3rd Edition and wanted to save RM80 just follow these few steps…

BACKUP YOUR PHONE

  1. you can do this by using Nokia OVI SUITES
  2. once you have done your backup.. keep it safely

PREPARE THE INSTALLATION FILES

  1. Firstly you need to buy the Garmin Mobile XT from the Garmin distributors. I saw one at Low Yat Plaza. We support only original Garmin from authorised distributors.
  2. If you don’t have money to buy,  you can download the installation files. Where to download? I also don’t know where to download….
  3. Once you have downloaded, unzip it.

INSTALLATION STARTS HERE

  1. connect your phone from the USB connection via ‘Mass storage mode’
  2. From your PC, install “GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50050.exe” then follow the steps until finish.
  3. once finished step 2… continue with “GarminMobileXTFreeBasemap_4xxxx.exe”
  4. then follow with “GarminMobileXTSupportFiles_4xxxx.exe”
  5. Remove USB connection between PC and phone. When your phone prompted ‘Launch GarminXT’,  just Cancel. Don’t and don’t click ‘yes
  6. From your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Application Manager > Installation files. Install GarminXT.sis file.

CONFIGURING GARMIN XT

  1. These steps for those who has no money. For those with a lot of money don’t follow these steps.
  2. Run GarminXT from your phone at Menu > Application > Garmin. Please follow the sequence and select your preferable.
  3. When prompted to “buy” or “Trial”, select the far bottom options “Connect to a Garmin GPS” or in some cases select “Use other device” then you will get “Where To?” and “View map” screen.
  4. In GarminXT, go to Tools > Settings > About.Write down the  “Card ID”, and  Exit GarminXT
  5. From your PC, (don’t connect the USB to your phone),  run “garmin_k**n.exe” and enter the “Card ID” from previous steps.
  6. Click Generate and copy the codes to Notepad, save it as sw.unl (make sure it is sw.unl and not sw.unl.txt)
  7. Connect back your phone to PC and select “Mass storage mode”.
  8. Copy “sw.unl” to Garmin folder. Usually located at E:/Garmin.
  9. Download the updated maps from http://www.malsingmaps.com or http://www.malfreemaps.com and copy it into Garmin folder. You need to register as member if you want to download the GPS MAP source from www.malsingmaps.com… It is free anyway. Copy the “gmapsupp.img” into the garmin folder.
  10. Disconnect your phone from PC.

FINAL CONFIGURATION

  1. From your phone, Run GarminXT
  2. Go to Tools > Settings > System > Remote GPS. Change to “Use Attached GPS” by disabling the “Bluetooth GPS”.
  3. Go to Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets > MapSource. Ensure that all maps are enabled.
  4. That’s all folks….

Please Google for “IMEI to UnitID Converter v1.0″ before executing STEP-5 in the Configuration Setup

Note: Steps to download and copy maps.

  1. download maps from malsingmaps.com or malfreemaps.com
  2. by using your pc, copy the gmapsupp.img into the sdcard/garmin folder
  3. done!
