For those who used Nokia phones with Symbian S60 3rd Edition and wanted to save RM80 just follow these few steps…<\/p>\n

BACKUP YOUR PHONE<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. you can do this by using Nokia OVI SUITES<\/li>\n
  2. once you have done your backup.. keep it safely<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PREPARE THE INSTALLATION FILES<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Firstly you need to buy the Garmin Mobile XT from the Garmin distributors. I saw one at Low Yat Plaza. We support only original Garmin from authorised distributors.<\/li>\n
    2. If you don’t have money to buy,\u00a0 you can download<\/a> the installation files. Where to download? I also don’t know where to download….<\/li>\n
    3. Once you have downloaded, unzip it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      INSTALLATION STARTS HERE<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. connect your phone from the USB connection via \u2018Mass storage mode\u2019 <\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. From your PC, install \u201cGarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50050.exe\u201d then follow the steps until finish.<\/li>\n
      3. once finished step 2… continue with \u201cGarminMobileXTFreeBasemap_4xxxx.exe\u201d<\/li>\n
      4. then follow with \u201cGarminMobileXTSupportFiles_4xxxx.exe\u201d<\/li>\n
      5. Remove USB connection between PC and phone.<\/strong> When your phone prompted \u2018Launch GarminXT\u2019,\u00a0 just Cancel<\/strong>. Don’t and don’t click ‘yes<\/li>\n
      6. From your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Application Manager > Installation files<\/strong>. Install GarminXT.sis file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        CONFIGURING GARMIN XT<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. These steps for those who has no money. For those with a lot of money don’t follow these steps.<\/li>\n
        2. Run GarminXT from your phone at Menu > Application > Garmin<\/strong>. Please follow the sequence and select your preferable.<\/li>\n
        3. When prompted to “buy” or “Trial”, select the far bottom options “Connect to a Garmin GPS”<\/strong> or in some cases select \u201cUse other device\u201d<\/strong> then you will get \u201cWhere To?\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cView map\u201d<\/strong> screen.<\/li>\n
        4. In GarminXT, go to Tools > Settings > About<\/strong>.Write down the\u00a0 \u201cCard ID\u201d<\/strong>, and\u00a0 Exit GarminXT<\/strong><\/li>\n
        5. From your PC, (don’t connect the USB to your phone),\u00a0 run \u201cgarmin_k**n.exe\u201d and enter the \u201cCard ID\u201d from previous steps.<\/li>\n
        6. Click Generate and copy the codes to Notepad, save it as sw.unl <\/strong>(make sure it is sw.unl and not sw.unl.txt)<\/li>\n
        7. Connect back your phone to PC and select \u201cMass storage mode\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n
        8. Copy \u201csw.unl\u201d to Garmin folder. Usually located at E:\/Garmin.<\/li>\n
        9. Download the updated maps from http:\/\/www.malsingmaps.com<\/a> or http:\/\/www.malfreemaps.com<\/a> and copy it into Garmin folder. You need to register as member if you want to download the GPS MAP source from www.malsingmaps.com… It is free anyway. Copy the \u201cgmapsupp.img\u201d into the garmin folder.<\/li>\n
        10. Disconnect your phone from PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          FINAL CONFIGURATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. From your phone, Run GarminXT<\/li>\n
          2. Go to Tools > Settings > System > Remote GPS<\/strong>. Change to \u201cUse Attached GPS\u201d<\/strong> by disabling the \u201cBluetooth GPS\u201d.<\/li>\n
          3. Go to Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets > MapSource<\/strong>. Ensure that all maps are enabled.<\/li>\n
          4. That’s all folks….<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Please Google for \u201cIMEI to UnitID Converter v1.0\u2033<\/em> before executing STEP-5<\/strong><\/em> in the Configuration Setup<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

            1. download maps from malsingmaps.com or malfreemaps.com<\/li>\n
            2. by using your pc, copy the gmapsupp.img into the sdcard\/garmin folder<\/li>\n
            3. done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
