No worries and won’t get lost anymore if you have a GPS unit installed in your car. And now, A Chap Ayam Double Din Car Audio System comes with build-in GPS system already. Not only that, it can plays movie in DVD, Divx format, MP3, CD/DVD and the best part is, it come with TV/radio receiver and build in SD Card plus USB slot. For less than RM1K, this is a complete China Made Car Audio System that you need nowadays.

This car audio system used Windows CE 5.0 as the operating system and once it used Windows, you can play around with it. It’s really cool when you can install multiple GPS system such as Garmin, Papago or even Mapking in the same unit. But for me, I like to use Garmin only compare to Mapking and Papago. The reason is Garmin is very easy to navigate and fast navigation system compare to others.

Installation is very easy!

First of all you need a 2GB SD card.
You need the Garmin Mobile XT for Windows CE 5.
Extract the zip file
By using your PC, copy Garmin folder into the SD Card.
Slot in the SD card into the Car Audio System
From the CAS menu, Select GPS Setting, launch [SD-Card]\Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.exe
go to Tools > Settings > About.Write down the “Card ID”, and Exit GarminXT
by using you PC, generate the SW.unl and copy it back to Garmin folder
That’s all……

Updating the map is also nutty easy…. go to http://www.malfreemaps.com or http://www.malsingmaps.com its free anyway. Copy the gmapsupp.img into the Garmin folder and you’re on the go already…..

Jangan tertipu… bila suh update Garmin GPS map….

Saya pakai Garmin GPS pada kereta dan juga handphone saya. Saya perangai saya, saya suka sesuatu yang up to date termasuklah GPS map file. So, setiap bulan saya suka update map GPS tu tapi yang jadi masalahnye, bila tanya kat kedai, rata-rata tokey kedai tu cakap “Lu mau update itu GPS map itu boleh.. tapi RM tiga puluh linggit lor…..”

Saya pelik bende yang simple giler tuh pon diorang boleh charge sampai RM30…. tu belom suh install Garmin lagi kat dalam tepon. Kalu nak install garmin dalam tepon nokia berapa pulak?? Tokey kedai jawab balik…”Lu kalu mau install oliginal punya.. ampat latus wooo… tapi kalu lu mau local punya lapan puloh linggit wooo”

Double hampeh kalu nak install diorang charge RM80…. ish ish ish… 15 minit keje RM80 untuk install dan 5 minit keje untuk update RM30….

Ni saya nak kongsi skit… mungkin ramai yang dah tahu nak update GPS map dan untuk Malaysia, Singapore dan Brunei… korang boleh download sendiri map source tu dari website nih..http://www.malfreemaps.com atau http://www.malsingmaps.com. Apa yang korang perlu buat adalah register as member.. free aja then download ler GPS map source tu for free… site tu bagus sebab map dia update every 2 weeks. Download aja dan copy file gmapsupp.img dan masuk dalam memori card dalam folder /Garmin. itu aja… dan korang dah save RM30.

Secondly, sapa yang pakai tepon Nokia dengan OS Symbian S60 3rd Edition, boleh CUCUK SINI untuk tahu macamana nak install GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition dan korang boleh save RM80….

So pepandai ler berjimat

How to Install Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 3rd & 5th Edition

For those who used Nokia phones with Symbian S60 3rd Edition and wanted to save RM80 just follow these few steps…

BACKUP YOUR PHONE

you can do this by using Nokia OVI SUITES
once you have done your backup.. keep it safely

PREPARE THE INSTALLATION FILES

Firstly you need to buy the Garmin Mobile XT from the Garmin distributors. I saw one at Low Yat Plaza. We support only original Garmin from authorised distributors.
If you don’t have money to buy, you can download the installation files. Where to download? I also don’t know where to download….
Once you have downloaded, unzip it.

INSTALLATION STARTS HERE

connect you phone from the USB connection via ‘Mass storage mode’
From you PC, install “GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50050.exe” then follow the steps until finish.
once finished step 2… continue with “GarminMobileXTFreeBasemap_4xxxx.exe”
then follow with “GarminMobileXTSupportFiles_4xxxx.exe”
Remove USB connection between PC and phone. When your phone prompted ‘Launch GarminXT’, just Cancel. Don’t and don’t click ‘yes
From your phone, go to Menu > Settings > Application Manager > Installation files. Install GarminXT.sis file.

CONFIGURING GARMIN XT

These steps for those who has no money. For those with a lot of money don’t follow these steps.
Run GarminXT from your phone at Menu > Application > Garmin. Please follow the sequence and select your preferable.
When prompted to “buy” or “Trial”, select the far bottom options “Connect to a Garmin GPS” or in some cases select “Use other device” then you will get “Where To?” and “View map” screen.
In GarminXT, go to Tools > Settings > About.Write down the “Card ID”, and Exit GarminXT
From your PC, (don’t connect the USB to your phone), run “garmin_k**n.exe” and enter the “Card ID” from previous steps.
Click Generate and copy the codes to Notepad, save it as sw.unl (make sure it is sw.unl and not sq.unl.txt)
Connect back your phone to PC and select “Mass storage mode”.
Copy “sw.unl” to Garmin folder. Usually located at E:/Garmin.
Download the updated maps from http://www.malsingmaps.com or http://www.malfreemaps.com and copy it into Garmin folder. You need to register as member if you want to download the GPS MAP source from www.malsingmaps.com… It is free anyway. Copy the “gmapsupp.img” into the garmin folder.
Disconnect your phone from PC.

FINAL CONFIGURATION

From your phone, Run GarminXT
Go to Tools > Settings > System > Remote GPS. Change to “Use Attached GPS” by disabling the “Bluetooth GPS”.
Go to Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets > MapSource. Ensure that all maps are enabled.
That’s all folks….

Notes: If these steps does not work for you… don’t blame me!!!!

Demam F1 Malaysia

Demam F1 Malaysia dah bermula dan hujung minggu nih seluruh dunia akan menyaksikan pasukan mana yang akan menawan litar sepang untuk tahun 2010. Sebelum nih dilitar Bahrain, Fernando Alonso dari pasukan Ferrari megah untuk tempat pertama dan Jenson Button dari pasukan McLaren-Mercedes pula menawan Litar Albert Park di Australia. Di Sepang semuanya akan terjawab hari Ahad ini….

Bagi pendapat peribadi saya, dua pasukan yang akan menjadi cabaran utama kali ini adalah McLaren-Mercedes dan Ferrari tetapi pasukan Petronas Mercedes GP juga menjadi duri dalam daging pasukan utama F1 tahun ini.

Saya tetap akan menyokong pasukan Petronas Mercedes GP dan segala harapan diletakkan kepada juara 7 kali M Schumacher…. tapikan.. tahun nih M Schumacher agak slow skit.. maybe tak panas lagi…

Kami sekeluarga memang sangat meminati F1 terutama Ashraff yang memang meminati Team Ferrari sampai apa jua warna merah menjadi pujaannya. Tahun nih saya pon tengah dok menunggu lagi takut takut ada vendor yang nak sponser tiket… kalau ada… saya akan bawa Ashraf.. kalau takde.. eemmmm.. tengok dalam TV ajer ler…

Oh ya lupa plak… jangan lupa bagi sokongan juga kepada Team Lotus F1 Racing yer.. walaupon team baru.. nampaknya team nih memberi cabaran dan tidak mustahil boleh naik podium nanti….
